Get to know Scott a little better:
Why is working at a social impact-based company important to you?
What gets me fired up to jump out of bed every morning is not just that cup of java waiting for me (though that helps), but the fact that I know the work I’m doing each day contributes to making the world a more equitable place for all to live – that’s energizing!
If you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, who would it be?
Since I’m a hobbyist gourmet cook, I’d like to have a dinner party with Pope Francis and other world faith leaders to discuss how faith leaders could align their vast resources around transforming how they work together to address chronic social problems.
If time travel were possible, where would you go and why?
I’d go back to the founding of the United States congress, and participate in all of the conversations, debates, negotiations and compromises that took place to create the original governing structure for the United States. Not because I enjoy politics (at least the way they look today) but to understand the long-term vision the founders were trying to conceive.
How do you spend your free time – when you have it?
In the summer, I really enjoy a brisk round of golf, preferably at sunrise when the dew is still on the grass. I also enjoy other water sports, especially fishing with a good friend. Grilling and eating al fresco with friends over a cold craft brew is also a frequent activity. Finally, I play competitive tennis all year round and workout to stay fit.
